The Biomedical Engineering Society (BMES) is the leading professional society for biomedical engineers around the world. The UC Davis BMES Student Chapter holds regular socials, workshops and networking opportunities for students. Joining the organization is an excellent way to learn more about the profession, meet other students interested in Biomedical Engineering, and network with faculty, staff and professionals in industry and academia.
SKILL BUILDING
We help Aggies grow their hard skills through our Mentor-Mentee Program and annual Make-A-Thon. By providing opportunities for our members to cut their teeth in both collaborative and competitive environments we work to strengthen their technical and problem solving skills. Organizing these events are excellent opportunities to strengthen leadership and communication skills.
ACTIVE ENGAGEMENT
We’re an active part of the larger UC Davis and Northern California biomedical engineering community. We keep relationships with BESA, the Biomedical Engineering Student Association here at UC Davis and host panels and lab tours that keep us in close contact with the cutting edge research both at Davis and the Aggie Square facilities in Sacramento. By hosting panels with biomedical industry leaders and touring their facilities we maintain industry connections.
COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT
We help foster relationships within the biomedical engineering community by hosting social events each quarter. Our Mentor-Mentee program connects under and upperclassmen through personalized project guidance. We develop relationships with our wider community of undergraduate engineering students by participating in college-wide events such as E-Week and inter-club socials.
